Second Win Of The Season For Win-Tron Racing At Kentucky
SPARTA, Kentucky (May 11, 2009) - - The last time James Buescher climbed out of a car for Win-Tron Racing, he celebrated in victory lane at Daytona International Speedway. The next time Buescher climbed out of the seat, he was again celebrating in victory lane as Buescher powered to his second ARCA victory of the season in Saturday nights Drive Smart! Buckle-Up Kentucky 150 at Kentucky Speedway.
Buescher in Kevin Cywinskis No. 32 Wolfpack Rentals TOYOTA Camry battled back from handling woes in a delayed practice effort Saturday but benefited from the postponement by starting on the pole for the fifth race of the 2009 season as ARCA RE/MAX Series officials started the field based on 2009 car owner points.
At the drop of the green, it was evident that Buescher was one of the best cars in the field. Buescher held the top spot from lap 1-13 before being passed by Justin Lofton. The two would prove to be the class of the pack with the two swapping the lead several times during the 100-lap event.
A trip on pit road approaching lap 45 allowed for four tires and fuel with Buescher setting sights on his first Kentucky Speedway win in his inaugural debut. Buescher passed the No. 6 of Lofton on lap 83 and held off several hard charges from Lofton to collect his third career victory in the ARCA RE/MAX Series.
It was the second win of the season for Win-Tron Racing and further strengthen their lead in the 2009 ARCA RE/MAX Series championship car owner standings.
I am so proud of James Buescher and this Win-Tron Racing team, said Nate Thiesse, co-owner and team manager of Win-Tron Racing. James wasnt exactly happy with the car after practice so as a team we went back to the drawing board and put what we thought would be a good setup for night racing at Kentucky. It paid off.
Buescher led a race high 57 laps in his second start of the year for the Lakeville, Minnesota based team.
Thiesse added, Weve really had a good year with James and Matt (Merrell). Both drivers have done their jobs behind the wheel and I have a feeling that this wont be the last time were in victory lane this season.
Merrell, a development driver for Win-Tron Racing will return to the controls next Sunday at Toledo Speedway. Ironically, Merrell made his ARCA RE/MAX Series debut for the team at Toledo Speedway in 2007.
