Win-Tron Racing, Justin Marks Kansas Speedway Advance

Kansas City, Kansas (September 29, 2010)- The ARCA Racing Series presented by RE/MAX and Menards travels to Kansas Speedway this week for the Kansas Lottery 150 on Thursday afternoon. Carrying momentum from two top-five finishes at Toledo and Salem, paired with a sixth place effort at the last 1.5-mile oval (Chicagoland Speedway), Justin Marks and his Win-Tron Racing crew are focused on keeping the ball rolling in the same direction at Kansas.

A solid qualifying effort on the outside of the front row two weeks ago on the high banks of Salem Speedway helped Marks keep the Construct Corps machine well within the top five for nearly the entire evening. Marks was able to keep his nose clean and fight his way through troublesome traffic all evening to claim the fifth position when the checkers flew.

Participating in the ARCA open test session last week at the Kansas City, Kansas venue, Win-Tron tuned on the setup underneath the same Construct Corps Toyota they raced to a fourth place finish at Texas Motor Speedway earlier in the season. With two lengthy practice sessions throughout the day, Marks and Crew Chief Mike Chaffee collaborated on some changes to the No. 32 machine and turned the sixth fastest practice speed overall, with a 32.416 second lap at 166.584 mph. Co-owner of Win-Tron Racing Nate Thiesse was pleased with the results of the test and is optimistic they will have a solid car to work with for Thursday’s one day show.

“I think we learned a lot at the test that we can use to improve what we already knew from Texas earlier this year and Chicagoland a couple weeks ago. We know the car is fast and we know Justin has run well at Kansas before, so we expect to see good results this weekend,” Thiesse commented.

The No. 32 will also sport a unique paint scheme for this weekend’s events at Kansas to promote driver Justin Marks’ newest business venture, KartSport North America. As owner of the largest North American distributor of Arrow Racing Karts, Marks has been staying quite busy during the week at the KartSport NA offices in Mooresville, NC. The usual black and green decals have been swapped for red, white and blue, along with KartSport logos that Justin is proud to show off this weekend.

In previous trips to Kansas Speedway, Marks scored the pole in 2007 racing for Robby Benton and cruised on to a sixth place finish after leading 21 laps on the day. He also piloted his Germain Racing entry in the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series to an 11th place finish in 2008. Win-Tron Racing scored a fifth place finish from a fourth place starting position with Beau Slocumb at the controls last fall.

Marks was able to gain 20 points in the championship title hunt at Salem, still residing in the fifth spot trailing leader Patrick Sheltra by 165 points. Justin Marks on Kansas
I’m excited about Kansas because I’ve had strong runs there before and I know this car is capable of a good finish after the run we had with it at Texas earlier this year. We worked on a lot of different things at the test that helped us and I know the guys went did some serious work this week at the shop as well, so we should be set for another solid weekend.

We were able to learn and try a lot of different things at the open test last week and we’re confident that we can apply those things to the car we have for Thursday night’s race. This Win-Tron crew worked really hard all week to get this Construct Corps Toyota ready for competition and the long hours they’ve put in during the past few days will hopefully pay off.
